What can I use the culture and leisure ticket for?

The KUFTI is the culture and leisure ticket. With the KUFTI, all Frankfurt children and young people can visit the zoo free of charge. And also all private museums in Frankfurt: that’s 16 of them!

Admission to 21 museums in the city has been free for children and young people since 2017.

Who can apply for the ticket?

Parents and caregivers!

There is a free KUFTI. And there is a KUFTI for 29 euros a year.

You can order KUFTI free of charge for anyone under the age of 18:

  • With residence, school or daycare center in Frankfurt and
  • With a family income of up to 4,500 euros per month The family income is officially called: net household income

For all other children and young people under the age of 18, KUFTI costs 29 euros per year. Even if you do not live in Frankfurt.

How can I order the ticket?

Tickets for children and young people can be ordered by these persons:

  • Legal guardians These are parents, for example.
  • Legal representatives These are, for example, legal guardians.

You must provide this data:

  • Names of legal guardians or legal representatives
  • Address
  • Name of child
  • Date of birth of the child
  • Family income: if it is less than 4,500 euros per month
  • Confirmation: Child lives in Frankfurt or child goes to school or day care center in Frankfurt.

The Cultural Office can check this information.

You must inform the Cultural Office of this:

  • If you are moving away from Frankfurt
  • If your family income rises to over 4,500 euros per month

You will receive the culture and leisure ticket by post.

How do I calculate the family income?

Family income refers to the net household income. This is the total income of all persons in a household.

A household includes all the people you live with.

The income total includes, for example

  • Wages
  • Salaries
  • Children’s money
  • Parental money
  • Pensions
  • Rental income

You must deduct from this:

  • Taxes
  • Social security contributions
  • Contributions for health insurance funds

You cannot pull out:

  • Rental costs
  • Costs for heating
  • Installments to pay off a loan

You can also find the amount of your net household income here: in your last valid annual tax certificate.

How long is the KUFTI valid for?

The free KUFTI is valid until one day before your 18th birthday.

The KUFTI for 29 euros is valid for 1 year. After that you can extend it:

  • Always by 1 year
  • It is valid until one day before the 18th birthday

How do I use the KUFTI?

Children and young people show their ticket at the ticket office of the museum or zoo.

Sometimes children and young people also have to show their ID. For example, the student ID card.

Each KUFTI ticket has its own code. This code is checked upon admission to the museum or zoo.

You cannot pass the ticket on to other people.

The ticket has been lost. What now?

If you lose your KUFTI ticket: Then you can order a new ticket. Give us a call: 069 / 97 460 – 456.

The new ticket then costs 10 euros. These are processing costs.

Is the ticket transferable?

No! You cannot lend the KUFTI to other people.

Young people aged 16 and over must also show their ID at the cash desk. The staff at the cash desk will then check their age.
