The first all-German parliament convened in St. Paul’s Church in 1848. This parliament also drafted the first German-language constitution. This makes the building one of the most important historical sites in the history of democracy in Germany to this day.
Together with the DAM – Deutsches Architekturmuseum, a free exhibition has been created here, which you can visit daily from 10:00 to 17:00.
The digital exhibition in the Wandelhalle presents the construction history of the historic Paulskirche and the current building in six stations. It also provides an overview of the Frankfurt National Assembly and its constitutional history. In addition, more than 70 years of debate culture are presented in highlights and an outlook is given on the future democracy venue Paulskirche and the House of Democracy. You can also find much of the content digitally here .
